How does the restore work on a fresh WordPress installation? +
Install a clean WordPress, then install the Onbit Backup plugin. When prompted, enter your account token (sent by email when you registered). The plugin will fetch your list of backups from our servers and let you restore any checkpoint with one click — no manual file transfers needed.
Is my data safe? Where is it stored? +
Your backups are stored on our private EU-based infrastructure (not on public cloud providers). All transfers use TLS encryption and request signatures. We never store plaintext credentials or SSH keys in the plugin. Access to our storage servers is strictly limited to our internal systems.
What happens when I reach my backup checkpoint limit? +
When you reach your plan's checkpoint limit (3 for Free, 6 for Starter, 12 for Professional, 24 for Business), the oldest checkpoint is automatically deleted when a new backup is created. This rotation keeps your storage usage predictable.
What if my site exceeds my storage quota? +
Before uploading, the plugin checks your site's backup size against your available quota. If the backup would exceed your limit, the process stops immediately with a clear message explaining the situation. You can then upgrade your plan or clean up unused files on your site.
Does Onbit Backup work on shared hosting? +
Yes. The plugin only requires a standard WordPress environment — no SSH access, no special PHP extensions, and no server configuration. It works on shared hosting, VPS, dedicated servers, and managed WordPress platforms.
Can I cancel my Pro plan at any time? +
Yes. Plans are billed annually and you can cancel at any time. After cancellation, your account reverts to the Free plan at the end of the billing cycle and your backups remain accessible until they exceed the Free quota limit.
